The Janome Memorycraft 3500 computerised sewing machine

Computerised Janome sewing with 50 pre-programmed stitches, including 4 different fully automatic buttonholes.

If you are scared of a sewing machine because of all the dials and things that tend to hang off nearly all brands then this machine is for you

what is a computer machine?

answer,

most computer machines do not have a thing called a camm stack. a camm stack is exactly that. all the so called automatic stitches are selected by a little hand that follows a camm stack as you select a stitch with the selection dial. a computer machine is made up of a solid state circuitry board similar to your new television set. this circuit board sends out signals to little motors that usually control stitch width , stitch length and tensions. not to mention the main drive motor and light.

usually the machines have a transformer that lowers the voltage from 240 volts down to around 24volts. most lights (globes) for instance on computer machines operate around 9.3 volts up to 15 volts.

many computer machines have a touch panel for simple stitch selection. no more tight stitch selection dials just immediate selection response.
usually when you select a stitch on a computer machine the stitch length and width have a default sizing placed in the machine. the user can over ride these settings at any time.
therefore buttonholes are much more even and there can be many different styles. the use of these button holes can be so embarrassingly simple that customers who have had machines for years cannot believe how simple it is compared to their old bomb.

once you have used a computer machine you would never truthfully want to go back to a camm stack model.
people who don't understand machines make comments like the more complicated they are the more they break down...wrong. good machines hardly ever break down. even the globes last for years because they are quality heligion types. the same type of globe light up your local tennis court (just a smaller version)

some advanced computer machines can do such things as embroidery. even donald duck can be done legally on a computer machine. (and simply)

i hope you now can understand the difference between a conventional machine and a computer model.
