Just touch a key, change the foot and you're ready to go.

This machine does it all - from just-for-fun creations to elegant embroidery. With the Xplore computerized sewing and embroidery machine, one minute you'll be sewing an apron for gardening, the next you'll be embellishing it with embroidery. This machine does it all – from just-for-fun creations to elegant embroidery. With the Xplore computerized sewing and embroidery machine, one minute you'll be sewing an apron for gardening, the next you'll be embellishing it with embroidery. A must for embroidery, now you'll find the Start/Stop key just as valuable for traditional sewing. It's so handy for applications like buttonholes, eyelets, bartacks, etc. - anything that requires a steady, consistent speed.
	You'll like the built-in carriage. No separate embroidery unit to attach, remove and store. One minute you're inserting a zipper, the next you're embroidering. And the feed dog adjusts itself to the task as needed. It automatically drops down when embroidery sewing, basting stitch or button sewing is selected. Select a different stitch and the feed dog rises into place.
The large, color LCD screen (94 mm x 71 mm – 3 ¾" x 2 ¾") guides you through. Just a light touch accesses information, instructions and advisory messages. Everything is clear and concise, right in plain sight.
	Come explore all the decorative possibilities. Choose from cross stitches, quilt stitches, heirloom stitches, florals, satin stitches, a comprehensive alphabet. Looking for more? Simply switch to embroidery mode and you're ready to embroider a built-in design or alphabet.
With Elna's one-step needle threader, simply pull down the lever, position the thread and the needle is threaded. It works first time, every time and is great for all those color changes.
	Sensors built into the machine help prevent those common "operator error" mistakes. Everything's set, but the machine won't sew. What happened? Did you lower the presser foot? Did you thread the machine? On-screen advisory messages tell you what to do.
Manipulate the stitch to your liking. Elongate satin stitches up to 5 times their original length. Change width and length. Use mirror image to flip stitches for a different effect.
	Sometimes you might want to use just part of a design. A simple touch on the screen lets you skip those colors or parts you don't want. Watch the screen recalculate the real sewing time.
For perfect embroidery design placement, use the design and hoop templates included with the 8600. The templates along with the hoop positioning keys provide all the help you need to lay out your design just the way you want it.
	Make sure your design is just the way you want it before you start to embroider. Use the drag and drop feature to arrange one or more designs in the window. Then resize, rotate, flip horizontally or vertically to refine the components.
Yes, you can do more with the free arm. Save all your thread and fabric scraps. Sandwich them between layers of wash-away stabilizer, and sew continuously around the free arm to weave unique, custom-made fabric for decorative accents. Another thought – use the optional free arm hoop to embroider cuffs and pant legs.
	There's unlimited memory capacity on the Elna Xplore. Save your files directly to the machine or to an optional card. You can even assign a name to the files, which are then automatically alphabetized.
Personalize practically anything with the two or three letter monograms. Add a classic frame or encase the monogram within other designs. Select from Gothic, Script or Cheltenham built-in fonts to embroider your entire name.
	The Elna Xplore also handles practical tasks with skill. Reinforce belt loops with sturdy bartacks and pleats with arrowtacks. Make durable buttonholes and securely attach buttons. Of course these elements can be creative as well. Sew buttons around a pocket area. Instead of a zipper, create a lacing effect with eyelets.
